Project Description

Empowering VET Schools with EU Citizenship Education: Inspiring Active Participation in Democratic Life

This three-year Erasmus+ project aims to systematically introduce the European Union into teaching and programmes in Vocational Education and Training (VET) schools. By focusing on the theme of Participation in Democratic Life, we aim to inspire students and educators to embrace EU values and active citizenship.

What Is the Focus?

The project addresses key aspects of EU citizenship:

  • Active EU Citizenship: Learn how to influence EU decisions and understand what the EU does for you.
  • Rights and Responsibilities: Explore the privileges and duties of being an EU citizen.
  • Awareness of EU Policies: Discover topics relevant to VET students, including EU Labour Law, workers' rights, Digital Transformation, and Environmental Sustainability, which are shaping the future labor market.

By addressing these themes, we aim to bridge the gap in students’ knowledge of the European Union and strengthen their sense of EU citizenship.

What We Aim to Achieve

  • Enhanced knowledge of EU institutions among students and educators.
  • Increased participation of youth in EU-related projects and initiatives.
  • Creation of a sustainable network of VET institutions promoting EU citizenship education.
  • Strengthened collaboration between schools, fostering European identity and cooperation.
  • Development of co-teaching mobility experiences on EU matters.
  • Integration of EU-focused content into VET programmes.

Key Activities

  • Training for Teachers: Online sessions, a summer camp, and resource co-creation on topics like sustainability and social inclusion.
  • Student Engagement: Visits to EU institutions, interactive workshops, and "Eurodays" events with EU experts.
  • Cross-border Collaboration: Joint projects and cultural exchanges among schools across Europe.
  • Resources for Schools: A portfolio of best practices, lesson plans, and teaching materials.

Why It Matters

This project equips students with the tools to engage with and contribute to the European Union while empowering educators to deliver impactful EU content. Together, we are fostering a generation of informed, active European citizens.

Join us in strengthening EU citizenship in education and shaping the future of Europe!
