DIST Digital Strength – VET against Cyber Violence

Year: 01/09/2025 – 31/08/2027
Programme: Erasmus+ VET – Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training

Description of the project

DIST was created to strengthen the digital safety of young people in VET, promoting awareness, respect, and critical skills to prevent cyber violence and foster more inclusive and responsible online interactions.

What is the DIST project about?

DIST is a European initiative that strengthens the skills of VET learners so they can navigate the digital world in a conscious, safe and respectful way. In a context where online communication, social media and digital tools are an integral part of daily life, the project supports students, teachers and trainers in addressing emerging risks such as cyber violence, online discrimination and hate content, while promoting dialogue, participation and inclusion.

Objectives

  • Increase understanding of cyber violence and the dynamics that produce it.

  • Develop critical, social and communication skills in students to help them identify, prevent and manage risky situations.

  • Provide teachers and trainers with practical tools to integrate digital safety education into VET pathways.

  • Promote respect, tolerance and openness to diversity in both online and offline interactions.

Key activities

  • Participatory research with young people and teachers to explore perceptions, needs and challenges related to digital safety.

  • Innovative training programmes focused on preventing cyber violence, managing online conflict and fostering responsible communication.

  • Toolkits and educational resources that can be easily used in schools and vocational training centres.

  • Awareness-raising actions to encourage a safer and more inclusive digital environment.

Expected impact

  • Equip young people to be more prepared and autonomous in their use of digital media.

  • Support educational institutions in systematically integrating digital citizenship education.

  • Foster more conscious, open and collaborative school communities.

Partnership

The project involves organisations from several European countries active in vocational education, youth work and social research. Eurocultura contributes by supporting training design, dissemination and the engagement of local stakeholders.
