BDW – Building a learning culture for the digital world
APP TO EXPLORE THE DIGITAL WORLD
Why this app?
Today all students, from the very beginning of their studies, are immersed in a learning world that is more and more digitalised. Nevertheless, most of the time they are not taught how to deal with it safely and consciously. For this reason, students should be taught how to learn in the digital world and to become familiar with the concept of “digital information literacy”.
This stems from the belief that compulsory digital information literacy courses, designed according to a modern curriculum, should be given to all youth in the first year of each school.
What can I find in the app?
The app developed in the framework of this project contains learning units aimed at improving students’ skills on digital information literacy. The contents are divided in different chapters:
- The history of Internet
- Search engines
- Use of information and ethical rules
- Digital copyright and plagiarism
- Cybersecurity
- IT law
At the end of each unit, you fill find a short quiz to check your knowledge of the contents.
The application can be downloaded by anyone and is free of charge.
The application is available in the following languages: English, French, Greek, Italian, Turkish.
Explore all the modules and get your certificate of participation!
