Once in the profession, 36% of employees between the ages of 18 and 29 consider it important to make a positive contribution to the environment at work (New Work, Trend Report 2021, Randstad). Therefore, topics such as sustainability and the future viability of occupations already play an important role in career orientation.<\/p><p>In the project BBNE for Future, the focus is on the identification of green competences in local industries and the corresponding occupations. We examine a few selected industries for their sustainability potential (Goal 1) and determine the green competences in the corresponding professions (Goal 2), which arise as a result of the social, political, economic, and technological&nbsp;changes (priority: Adapting VET to labour market needs). In terms of occupations, we focus on industries that are considered \"environmentally unfriendly\", having an impact on air, soil, water, waste\/wastewater, energy use and consumption, resources, and noise. Subsequently, we validate the results of the project by the target group of young people (Goal 3).<\/p><p>Target groups:<\/p><ul><li>Young people in vocational orientation, young people in vocational education and training who want to experience the greening potential of their chosen occupations.<\/li><li>Schools that offer vocational guidance (practice counsellors); Vocational schools that show interest in sustainability issues in industrial professions.<br><br><\/li><\/ul><p>Expected effects:<\/p><ol><li>Young people: sensitization to the greening potential of the professions of their choice, awareness that through their profession they can also contribute to more environmental protection and combating climate change.<\/li><li>Parents: to see industrial occupations or training occupations in general as important occupations (as these are often in competition with university education), to increase the value of vocational training.<\/li><li>Schools, NGOs as education providers: receive practice-relevant content that they can integrate into their educational offers. Many schools do not have the capacity to carry out such systematic work as the project has set itself.
